Maray gravitates toward outlines, silhouettes, and pared-down forms as entry points to larger existential questions, intending to interrupt the trance of daily habit and routine with consideration of the illusions and constructs that shape perception. The disruptions of 2020 gave rise to the creation of BATHUS, a multi-sensory vision that centers on the definition of 'bathus' as both 'deep' and 'dawn' with experiences that encourage participants to journey inward, using the work as a mirror for their own landscapes of being, where self-mastery naturally emerges. BATHUS is a work in progress that welcomes collaboration in an effort to redefine the art experience and integrate sustainable meaning and joy in daily life.
